I found this video rental store about a ten minute walk away. As far as I can tell, it is the closest video store to me. It is on the edge of the college campus and that seems to shine through at this place. They have all of the main stream movies that “everyone” is watching, but that this dwarfed by their impressive selection of documentaries, foreign, and independent films. I haven’t seen a whole lot of movies from there yet, but I think that I’ll average about one a week. I love those kinds of films. I just got done watching the 2005 Sundance winner: “Me and You and Everyone We Know”. Last week I watched “Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring”, a great award winner from Korea. Next on my list is “Run Lola Run”, I can’t wait!
Documentaries, Foreign Films, and Independant Films

Run Lola Run is awesome! There’s another german movie with the same actor (not the actress) called “Das Experiment” (“The Experiment”) which is inspired by a real experiment done at a university in the states. The idea was to take a bunch of students and arbitrarilly decide soem are guards and others are prisoners, and then simulate in as much detail as possible a prison-type situation. It all goes out of control as the guards develop real authority complexes. I’ll stop there, but it’s a must see for anyone who enjoys german films and likes to dabble in pop-psychology.
Next time I’m in the store I’ll have to look for it. I will add it to my list of movies that I’d like to see.
